Ho Chi Minh City with Kids: Child Tickets and Hours

Child tickets depend on age at museums and on height at the zoo and water park. Independence Palace charges VND 20,000 for ages 6 to under 16. The zoo child ticket covers 1 m to under 1.3 m. The water park charges VND 180,000 from 0.8 m to 1.4 m.

War Remnants Museum

Children and persons with severe disabilities accompanied by a parent or family member collect free tickets at the museum counter. Children under 6 enter free.

The two pages give different rules, so for a child aged 6 or over the FAQ’s cut-off is the stricter reading. Standard admission is VND 60,000 from 1 October 2026. The ticket counter at the Vo Van Tan gate is open 07:30 to 17:00 daily.

A Green SM blog says the exhibits can be upsetting and children need adult guidance. Three exhibitions have been paused from 20 June 2026, and other areas stay open normally. The three can be viewed in VR360 on the first floor. See the War Remnants Museum guide for the full visit.

Independence Palace

General admission covers the exhibit and the palace. Children 6 to under 16 pay VND 20,000 for general admission. A palace-only ticket for the same age band is VND 10,000. The prices are valid from 1 May 2026.

The palace is open daily, including weekends and holidays. The entrance gate at 135 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street is open from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The electric car tour is VND 25,000 per person per ride.

Bulky luggage and pets are not allowed inside. See the Independence Palace guide.

Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens

The zoo’s gate ticket splits by height, not age. The adult ticket applies from 1.3 m, and the child ticket from 1 m to under 1.3 m. The ticket page lists VND 60,000 for an adult and VND 40,000 for a child.

The zoo is open every day from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM at 02 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, Saigon Ward. It sells tickets only at its gate counters and on its own website saigonzoo.vn. Buy only through those two channels.

Dam Sen Water Park

The water park prices by height. Visitors taller than 1.4 m pay VND 220,000, those from 0.8 m to 1.4 m pay VND 180,000, and children under 0.8 m are free. These retail prices apply to individual visitors and groups under 20 people. The park has a children pool.

Hours are 09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Saturday, and 08:30 to 18:00 on Sundays, holidays and Tet. Ticket sales stop at 16:30 and rides are switched off at 17:30. A locker ticket costs VND 25,000. An online ticket is valid for 15 days from the purchase date.

The operator’s page lists Monday-to-Saturday hours and no weekly closing day. On Tuesday 13 October 2026 it nonetheless showed the day as closed, with no reason, and asked visitors to contact the park. The park is at 3 Hoa Binh Street, Binh Thoi Ward; its phone is 028 3858 8418.

Museum of Vietnamese History

This is not the Museum of Ho Chi Minh City: that one is a separate museum at 65 Ly Tu Trong Street, open 08:00 to 17:00.

The Museum of Vietnamese History is at 2 Nguyen Binh Khiem Street, the same street address as the zoo. Its notice says children, pupils and students visit free. Adult admission is VND 60,000 per visit. The museum is closed on Monday and opens Tuesday to Sunday.

The Skydeck charges children aged 4 to 12 VND 160,000, against VND 240,000 for an adult. Children under 4 are free when accompanied by an adult, in limited quantity. It lists hours of 09:30 to 21:30 every day.

The last ticket and entry are 45 minutes before closing. Visitors may not take food or drink into the Skydeck. The operator reserves the right to change prices and hours without notice.

Cu Chi Tunnels

The Cu Chi Tunnels site is open every day from 07:00 to 17:00. A 2020 city council resolution exempts children under 7 from the visiting fee. It sets children from 7 to under 16 at 50% of the fee.

The operator’s notice lists VND 35,000 per person per visit for foreign visitors, plus a VND 100,000 guide-service ticket. See the Cu Chi Tunnels comparison for the two sites.
