International Schools in Ho Chi Minh City: Fees Compared

Across six schools' own schedules, annual tuition for the first primary year runs from VND 489,400,000 at BVIS HCMC to VND 686,960,000 at SSIS paid in full. Final-year tuition reaches VND 999,300,000 at BIS HCMC. BVIS also charges application, registration and deposit fees.

An international school invoice lists tuition first, then other charges. At BVIS HCMC a new family also pays an application fee of VND 3,700,000, a registration fee of VND 73,300,000 and a security deposit of VND 36,700,000.

This page sets seven schools side by side. Six publish their own fee schedules, and ISHCMC is covered from press. ISHCMC’s figures come from press and another school’s roundup, and are labelled that way.

How the fees compare

Prices are annual tuition in VND for the 2026-2027 school year. Where a school offers both, the table shows the one-payment price.

SSIS prices Grades 1-5 and Grades 11-12 as bands. Its instalment prices are higher, VND 730,808,000 and VND 924,546,000.

Tuoi Tre reported that tuition at many Ho Chi Minh City international schools rose 3-6 percent for 2026-27. It gave US dollar figures for several schools. RISS primary is about $20,000 to $25,200, SNA grade 1 about $19,700 and SSIS grades 1-5 about $28,000. It named BIS HCMC the highest among the schools surveyed.

The payment deadlines for this school year were 5 August 2026 at BVIS, 3 August 2026 at BIS and 25 June 2026 at SSIS. Those dates have passed, so a family joining now falls under the late-enrolment rules below.

The discount for paying the year at once is around 15% at BVIS and BIS. It is 6% at SSIS, about 10% at ABC and 6% at AIS Saigon. RISS is around 15%.

Youngest classes

Half-day and full-day classes are priced separately. BIS HCMC charges F1 full day at VND 333,300,000.

Schools outside this page publish lower fees. Tuoi Tre reported North American International School (SNA) grade 1 at about $19,700. It put US Vietnam Talent International School primary at about $8,700-11,100.

What the tuition price leaves out

The headline fee leaves out items that differ by school.

• Bus: School bus is charged separately at BVIS HCMC, BIS HCMC, SSIS, ABC and AIS Saigon.
• Lunch: BVIS tuition includes lunch. AIS tuition includes lunch and snacks from Foundation Kindergarten to Year 6. SSIS families pay for lunch. BIS secondary students pay for lunch and snack separately.
• Uniforms: ABC tuition for Reception to Year 2 includes uniform sets. RISS includes 3 standard and 2 PE uniform sets at the start of the year. BVIS, SSIS and AIS list uniforms outside tuition.
• Exams: BVIS tuition includes international exams. ABC charges VND 4,800,000 per IGCSE subject and VND 5,500,000 per AS or A2 subject. SSIS families pay AP and IB exam fees. Tuoi Tre reported that ISHCMC charges IB exam fees separately.
• English support: BVIS tuition includes EAL tuition if required. AIS charges VND 36,100,000 a year for Years 2-6. BIS charges EAL fees per term from VND 19,440,000 to VND 75,800,000.
• Devices: SSIS requires a MacBook each day from Grade 4 to Grade 12. Tuoi Tre reported that ISHCMC tuition includes devices such as an iPad or MacBook Air.
• Late payment: BIS and AIS add a 1.5% penalty per month. ABC adds a 5% surcharge after 15 working days.

Joining or leaving part-way through the year

Late joiners and leavers meet fixed shares of the annual fee.

If your child joins late

• BVIS HCMC: the annual fee in the first half of Term 1 and 90% of it in the second half. A child joining in Term 2 pays the Term 2 and Term 3 fees, and one joining in Term 3 pays the Term 3 fee.
• BIS HCMC uses the same four steps.
• SSIS: 100% of annual tuition in quarter 1, 85% in quarter 2, 60% in quarter 3 and 35% in quarter 4.
• AIS Saigon: 90% of annual fees for entry from 1 to 31 October.
• RISS: 85% of annual tuition in the second half of Term 1.

If your child leaves

• Notice: BVIS asks for the form at least 90 calendar days before the last day. BIS asks the same. AIS, RISS and ABC ask for 90 days. SSIS asks for 60 calendar days.
• BVIS and BIS refund 55% of annual tuition for a last day in Term 1, 30% in Term 2 and 0% in Term 3.
• AIS refunds 65% of annual tuition and boarding fees for a departure in Academic Term 1.
• RISS refunds 55% of annual tuition for a last day in the first half of Term 1, 40% in the second half and 20% in Term 2.
• BVIS does not refund any part of term tuition fees or late-enrolment fees. ABC runs a no-refund policy on instalments paid.

BVIS HCMC — English National Curriculum

BVIS HCMC delivers the English National Curriculum. The campus is at 44-46 Street 1, Binh Hung, Ho Chi Minh City.

Annual fees run from VND 259,200,000 for F1 and VND 489,400,000 for Year 1 to VND 614,700,000 for Year 7 and VND 708,800,000 for Year 13.

The annual fee is discounted by around 15% compared with the term fees. The deadline for this year’s discount, 5 August 2026, has passed.

The application fee is VND 3,700,000. The registration fee is VND 73,300,000, or VND 24,500,000 for the Foundation Stage. The security deposit is VND 36,700,000 per child.

Tuition includes lunch, EAL tuition if required, learning materials, the free extra-curricular programme and international exams. Some instrumental lessons, some activities, residential trips, uniforms and buses cost extra.

The third or fourth child from one family gets 10% off tuition. BVIS takes new students year-round.

Renaissance International School Saigon (RISS) — half-day Early Years places

RISS is at 74 Nguyen Thi Thap, Tan Thuan Ward.

Annual tuition is VND 202,000,000 for Early Years 1 half day, VND 522,500,000 for Year 1 and VND 856,300,000 for Year 13. Tuoi Tre reported about $20,000 to $25,200 for primary and $28,200 to $32,800 for secondary.

Paying RISS annual tuition in one instalment at the start of the year saves around 15% compared with paying by terms.

The application fee is VND 2,000,000 for Early Years to Year 2 and VND 4,000,000 for Year 3 to Year 13. The registration fee is VND 25,000,000 for Early Years, VND 40,000,000 for Primary and VND 55,000,000 for Secondary. The security deposit is VND 22,000,000 per child.

The second child in the same family studying at the same time gets 10% off tuition.

The ABC International School — British curriculum, uniform in tuition

ABC follows the British curriculum. Its Trung Son Campus is at 152-158 Street No. 1, KDC Trung Son, Binh Hung Commune. A second campus, Nha Be, is at 2 Street No. 9, KDC Tan An Huy, Nha Be Commune.

Annual tuition is VND 196 350 000 for Pre-Nursery half day, VND 531 190 000 for Year 1 and VND 837 930 000 for Year 13. Paying the year in one lump sum is approximately 10% cheaper than instalments.

Registration for Year 1 is VND 24 000 000, with a refundable deposit of VND 22 000 000. The registration fee is paid once but is upgraded as a child moves up a year group.

Tuition for Reception to Year 2 includes uniform sets, lunch and insurance. It excludes residential trips and visits, instrumental lessons and school buses.

ABC offers a 15% sibling discount for the second, third or fourth child. Families without a sibling discount get 5% off after three consecutive full academic years.

AIS Saigon — IB and Cambridge, with boarding

AIS Saigon offers the IB and Cambridge International programmes. Its Thu Thiem campus, Kindergarten to Year 13, is at 264 Mai Chi Tho Street, Binh Trung Ward.

Annual tuition is VND 311,900,000 for Foundation Kindergarten, VND 597,100,000 for Year 1 and VND 908,000,000 for Year 13. The annual payment is discounted 6% compared with the 4-instalment price.

The application fee is VND 3,500,000. The acceptance fee is VND 64,000,000 for Years 1-11. The security deposit is VND 30,000,000.

Tuition includes lunch and snacks from Foundation Kindergarten to Year 6. It excludes the school bus, uniforms, medical state insurance, academic competitions and sport trips.

Full boarding for Years 7-13 costs VND 248,100,000 a year. The third and later children get a 100% waiver of the acceptance fee and a 20% tuition discount.

BIS HCMC — English National Curriculum and IB Diploma

BIS HCMC offers the English National Curriculum and the IB Diploma Programme. It has three campuses. The Secondary Campus is at 246 Nguyen Van Huong Street, An Khanh Ward.

Annual tuition is VND 246,500,000 for F1 half day, VND 333,300,000 for F1 full day, VND 679,900,000 for Year 1 and VND 999,300,000 for Year 13.

The annual fee is discounted by around 15% compared with the term fees. The deadline for this year’s discount, 3 August 2026, has passed.

The application fee is VND 4,700,000. The registration fee is VND 73,300,000, or VND 24,500,000 for the Foundation Stage. The security deposit is VND 24,500,000 per child, applied to Primary and Secondary students only.

The third and later child of a family with three or more children enrolled gets 10% off tuition.

SSIS — American curriculum

SSIS delivers an American curriculum from Early Childhood through High School. It describes itself as the only not-for-profit preK-12 school in Ho Chi Minh City. The campus is at 78 Nguyen Duc Canh, Tan Hung Ward.

Tuition by instalment is VND 530,192,000 for EC 3-4, VND 730,808,000 for Grades 1-5 and VND 924,546,000 for Grades 11-12. Paying in full lowers these to VND 498,380,000, VND 686,960,000 and VND 869,073,000.

The application fee is VND 10,000,000 per student. The registration fee is VND 60,000,000 per new student. The enrollment deposit is VND 45,000,000, deducted from the tuition invoice.

Tuoi Tre reported about $28,000 for grades 1-5 and $35,400 for grades 11-12 before the discount.

ISHCMC — IB from Early Years

ISHCMC offers the full IB continuum from Early Years to Secondary.

A Nord Anglia school’s roundup lists primary tuition at VND 702 million to VND 769 million a year. It lists secondary at VND 874 million to VND 987 million. Tuoi Tre reported grade 1 at about $26,900 and grade 12 at about $37,900.

Tuoi Tre also reported an annual development fee of about $2,600 for grades 1-12 and an admission fee of about $1,900. ISHCMC tuition includes textbooks, uniforms and personal devices.

Before you apply

• Match your child’s date of birth to a year group. AIS Saigon places children born 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021 in Year 1.
• Compare the one-payment and instalment prices: the gap is about 10% at ABC and 6% at AIS Saigon. The BVIS, BIS and SSIS discount deadlines have passed.
• Ask what is billed on top of tuition: bus, uniforms and exams differ by school.
• Read the notice period before enrolling: 90 calendar days at BVIS and 60 calendar days at SSIS.
