Saigon station: address and how to get there
Saigon station (Ga Sài Gòn) is at 1 Nguyen Thong, Nhieu Loc Ward. Nhieu Loc is the ward created from the old Wards 9, 11, 12 and 14 of District 3. It is the last station on the North-South line and the hub for trains from the south to the central and northern provinces. The ticket hotline is 1900 1520.

SE2 is the shortest at 7 h 9 min and SE10 the longest at 8 h 36 min. The cheapest soft seat is VND 262,000, on SE8 and SE6. SE4 and SE2 reach Nha Trang in the small hours, at 02:40 and 03:44, so book a hotel that takes late check-in.
SE8 calls at Di An at 06:28 and Bien Hoa at 06:44. If you live near those stations, board there and skip the trip into the city.

How a foreigner buys a train ticket
Book online or at the station, and bring your passport. These are the steps.
- Check the timetable and fare on dsvn.vn, as above.
- Buy on dsvn.vn, vetau.com.vn, vetauonline.vn or giare.vetau.vn. You can also buy at stations, agents and official ticket points, and in apps and e-wallets such as MoMo, VNPay, ShopeePay, ZaloPay and ViettelPay.
- Online, declare details that match your passport, and enter an email address so you can request a refund online later. At the counter, give your full name and a valid ID number.
- Carry a passport or consular letter. Passengers show valid personal documents when buying and when boarding.
- Show the ticket and your documents to enter the station and board.
A child under 6 who shares an adult’s seat travels free, one child per adult ticket. The 25% discount for children aged 6 to under 10 is for Vietnamese children, and the 15% discount at 60 or above is for Vietnamese citizens. Tet tickets
Tet Dinh Mui tickets went on sale at 8:00 on 5 September 2026, about 300,000 of them. The Tet transport period runs from 23 January to 25 February 2027, with 57 trains. Each customer can book at most 10 tickets each way.

Change, refund and luggage rules
To change a ticket, go to a station with the original ID of the passenger or the buyer. A change costs VND 20,000 per ticket, and under 24 hours before departure there is none.
To return a ticket bought online with an email address, send a refund request on dsvn.vn or go to any station. The money goes back to the account you paid from: about 1 day for an e-wallet, 3 to 10 working days for a bank account. The minimum return fee is VND 10,000. The fee bands are below.
Free carry-on luggage is up to 20 kg per ticketed passenger, within 0.8 m long, 0.5 m wide, 0.4 m high and 0.16 cubic metres. Over that, you buy a ticket for the excess.
